Water-aware planning over official NOAA ENC geometry — land, charted depths, dredged channels, hazards, restrictions and bridge clearances constrain the path; an independent validator then checks every segment. Results are experimental proposals, never approved routes.
Saved routes re-validate against chart data every time you navigate — a stored line is a plan, not an approval.
Long-press the chart to drop a waypoint there.
A recorded track is the path your GPS actually took — a reference, not a validated route. Reverse creates a route candidate that still needs re-validation.
Records GPS (raw + filtered) and app events for diagnostics. Stays on this device — delete anytime. On iPhone, recording stops if the phone locks or the app backgrounds.
Your boats — draft, air draft and cruise speed feed route planning. Stored on this device only.
Units apply to SlipLanding readouts — depths, speeds and distances on the HUD, route reports, tide/current conditions and vessel profiles.

Safety: SlipLanding is a chart-reference and marina-orientation aid. Voyage planning is experimental and has not been independently validated — always navigate by official charts and judgment. Charted data is NOAA-sourced but may be incomplete or stale.
Chart browsing, marine routing and GPS stay on this device. Address search and road previews send your query or endpoints to the geocoding/routing provider only after consent; maps-app handoffs send only what you tap. No location history is kept.
Searching for places and addresses works without GPS — only live navigation needs a position.
Cached and downloaded charts keep showing — only the missing tiles are affected. Nothing is drawn in place of chart data: a hatched tile means NOAA did not deliver that tile.
Drawing a driving or walking route sends your start and destination coordinates to a public OpenStreetMap routing service (OSRM). Searching for an address or place sends the typed text to the geocoding provider — Apple Maps inside the iPhone app, the US Census geocoder in a browser.
Turn-by-turn in Apple or Google Maps does not need this — those apps receive only what you hand them. SlipLanding stores no location history; this choice can be reset in Settings → Privacy.
The route engine can't anchor on land — your pin isn't on charted water. Review each proposed anchor below; nothing is moved unless you accept. Markers on the chart: ⊘ your pin, ◎ proposed anchor.
Move the map or enable GPS to load local conditions.
Raw fix (◦ cyan) vs what the app displayed (boat icon) — the filtered channel is what a replay must reproduce faithfully.
NOAA chart + marina slip maps — a reference and orientation aid, not certified navigation software.
